A 300 mile solo triathlon challenge linking London and Paris via an English Channel swim.
The clock starts in London and keeps ticking all the way to Paris - any delays or rests are part of the cumulative time.
The challenge is to complete all three stages as continuously as possible.
Stage 1 Run Marble Arch, London to Dover 87miles
Stage 2 Swim the English Channel 22 miles
Stage 3 Cycle Calais to Arc D’Triomphe, Paris 180miles
Andy’s Record
Andy posted the first repeat crossing in 2003 missing the overall record due to a bad weather delay in Dover but setting fastest stage times that still stand today.
History
First completed as a relay in the 1980s it was only in 2001 that Englishman Eddie Ette pioneered the first successful solo crossing in a run-swim-bike format setting a world record of just over 80 hours.
Eddie went on to found the Enduroman organisation www.enduroman.com for which A2A remains the truly exceptional ultra distance triathlon challenge with only 9 successful solo crossings by the end of 2011.
In June 2011 Andy led the support crew of Team Urban Fitness www.urbanfitnessgb.co.uk/arch2arc.html as they set a new relay record time.
Doing Big & Scary
Andy used his A2A experience to create a unique three-dimensional model for personal high performance.
1. Goal-setting template
2. Six step goal-achieving process
3. Goal-repeating formula
He has taken his model into schools, businesses and sport since 2004 working with clients to address leadership, teamworking and under-performance issues.
